The Adventurer's Compact

The complete terms every participant agrees to before entering the world of the Fourth Age. Read this document in full before signing the waiver.

This Compact is the liability waiver and code of conduct binding all participants ("the Adventurer," "you") who take part in any event, gathering, or activity organized by 4th Age LARP ("the Organization"). By signing the waiver, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to every clause below.

I.Assumption of Risk

Live-action roleplay is a physically active pursuit. You acknowledge that participation may involve running, simulated combat with safe-construction weapons, uneven terrain, low-light conditions, and prolonged time outdoors. You understand these activities carry an inherent risk of injury, and you choose to participate of your own free will, assuming all such risks.

II.Health & Fitness

You confirm you are physically and medically fit to participate.
You will disclose any medical condition, allergy, or medication need on the waiver form so that staff can respond appropriately in an emergency.
You are responsible for managing your own dietary, medical, and hydration needs throughout the event.

III.Conduct of the Realm

Every Adventurer agrees to uphold the following at all times:

Treat all participants, staff, and venue property with respect.
Harassment, discrimination, and unwanted physical contact of any kind are forbidden and grounds for immediate removal.
Honor the "hold" call — when "hold" is announced, all action stops instantly for the safety of others.
Keep in-character conflict separate from out-of-character disputes.

IV.Equipment & Safety Inspection

All weapons, armor, and props must pass a safety inspection by event staff before use. The Organization reserves the right to prohibit any item it deems unsafe. Firearms, live blades, open flame, and intoxicants are strictly prohibited on event grounds.

V.Minors

Participants under 18 years of age must have this Compact reviewed and the waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. A guardian's signature affirms consent on behalf of the minor and acceptance of all terms herein.

VI.Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless the Organization, its staff, volunteers, and venue partners from any claim, liability, or expense arising from your participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. This release binds your heirs and legal representatives.

VII.Media & Likeness

Events may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes. By participating you grant the Organization permission to use such media unless you submit a written opt-out request to event staff prior to the event.

VIII.Acknowledgment

By completing and submitting the waiver on the 4th Age LARP website, you affirm that you have read this Adventurer's Compact in its entirety, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you accept these terms freely. Waivers must be completed prior to check-in at your first event.
